Newhaven

Hi, we're looking to take our caravan to France next year for the first time and are considering doing the Newhaven-Dieppe crossing. But we've been warned off that particular crossing because the road to Newhaven is apparently very narrow and busy and scary for caravanners! Anybody got any experiences of that road to share?

:-D Hi never had a problem with that road A275 via Lewes or you can take A22 . We are based in East Grinstead approx 30miles from Newhaven and still find it cheaper to use Dover Calais crossings. However I do like the Newhaven to Dieppe sort of a mini cruise if u no what I mean!! Hope this helps Bob caravaner now motorhomer.

Head for Lewes and take A27 from Lewes towards Eastbourne (east). At Beddingham roundabout take A26 south (right) for Newhaven, then follow signs for ferry on entering Newhaven. The road is generally wide and has a good surface. It carries moderate, not heavy, traffic, and is used by HGVs in both directions without difficulty.
