I am heading off to Switzerland on a maiden voyage in 2 weeks and was curious to know if I can use euros for vignette, campsites shopping etc? Can anyone out there give me some advice? I decided to avoid Switzerland drove back into France and drove from Cannes through to Dubrovnik along the Coast. It was truly memorable and i loved Croatia and the Croatians. net-traveller Posted October 4, 2006 Share Posted October 4, 2006 Been there twice this year. At motorway services and on the border euros are widely accepted, the change is given in francs. A lot of campsite ask whether you want to pay in euros or francs, again change in francs. I would think that a lot of tourist things, like boats on lakes etc, will take either. Railways and buses - never been asked so expect francs only. Easy to get francs from ATMs when there and, of course, plastic is well used.
