Scheduled flight so no extra carbon emissions for the skipper getting to the yaught.

Once again you might wanna check up ya facts ... Extra weight with the passenger and luggage add to extra CO2 emissions and how did the skipper get to and from the airport ???

So we've gone from your original "no extra carbon emissions" to admitting "the skipper" did indeed add extra CO2 emissions ... Your way too easy JumpedUp

What an absolute load of Bollox. What should climate change activists do? Invent some way of floating around the planet on fairy farts? Until carbon free fairy fart travel is available you use what ever methods actually exist to get around and promote the cause. Its great that people like Greta are using sail power etc as it creates news but I have absolutely no problem with her or other key figures supporting fighting climate change flying, driving or getting to these events by any means possible because they are the means currently available. The work they do and publicity far outweighs the emissions of a scheduled flight. Hopefully if they are successful pretty soon there will be other means available and perhaps if the world gets on board with fighting something everyone should support they wont fecking need to fly about the world fighting for people and governments to wake up!

Pathetic story by the Fail.

You should stop spending your time reading right wing rags or browsing the Twitter ramblings of hate figures like Hatey Popkins and Tommy (I back Boris) Robinson. The Beeb thinks its millions but its no longer a trusted media outlet since the Tories took control of it. https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/50601805

Where did anyone claim this journey was "completely" carbon free? As close to Carbon emissions free maybe as it can be. The point is its all about making an impact and getting people more interested and supportive. These people vote presumably so governments take notice unless your Trump or some of the more rabid Tory party members.

Its undeniable that the massive movement of children to get involved was sparked by this remarkable young girl. I just dont get it? Why the hate?

Alternatively, we could wonder why world leaders will descend on Portugal by air, to emit carbon dioxide on top of the carbon monoxide, talking about what a climate emergency we face, then emit more CO flying home to do sweet FA.

I'm with Barry, it's taken a 16 year old to at least get the crisis publicity, lets not be picky and take any opportunity to make cheap comments about someone who is putting us motor caravaners to shame. What are you doing, Birdbrain, to reduce your carbon footprint.

We probably are doing more though as a result of this awareness. Im certainly greener than I was ten or even five years ago. The great thing about this campaign and yes the millions of people youngsters like Greta have inspired is they are all going to be voters as are we that are becoming aware and changing our habits. Governments will listen to that and the more pressure that is piled on them the more they will do.

If there were 2500 large demos of children all over the globe on one day they would only need 400 at each one to make a million and thats just one day of events. thing is its making a difference and its making the news. Its a fantastic thing for kids to be involved with. Well done them I say and well done Greta.

I just find it totally odd that anyone seems to be anti. WTF?
