Wingpete Posted June 11, 2007 Share Posted June 11, 2007 Just been on phone to friend, new m/homer, who I recommended taking his m/bike on trailer to Internation bikers meet in Spain. Around Barcelona, got waved down by plain car, and man approached with what seemed to be a police ID. Now thought to be fake. Wanted to check for drugs and smuggled gold. Entered, without invitation, habitation door and searched, found some cash, and scarpered, pronto. Friend let totally bemused and very unhappy. >:-) Police informed, who took statements, delaying journey by 8 hours. Now on way home, thoroughly disgusted by the first motorhoming experience abroad. :-( Beware out there, Spain has different dangers form the norm.
