Don't tell Hammond. Since you vote Tory anyway he might want it back again to send to the marginal constituencies ;-)

No reason that shouldn't now be stopped from the "Snowbirds" John. They may as well get used to having their wings clipped anyway.

So you won't be donating it to a food bank for people who really need it. Shame.

I saw those drunks getting the donated food at a Church I was working at a few months ago ... They were really thankful ... Meant they had more money for a few more tins of booze ... They don't like chocolate biscuits though , had a right argument about chocolate biscuit donations they did ... Keep the money and drink it yaself rather than letting others drink it for ya Dave

Your right for once fella and I couldn't agree more with you that the need for food banks is fantasy and the stuff of fairy tales ... Heres someone else telling fairy tales about inequality and homeless issues ... https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/883199/autumn-budget-bbc-newsnight-uk-inequality-money-labour-policy-guru-shutdown-fraser-nelson ... Like me and Bullet do don't fall for the fairy tale food bank twaddle

Oh well if it came from the Daily Express and ONS instead of the Food Banks themselves it must be right *-)

ONS Growth forecasts are so consistently over optimistic they have become a joke. But even they have been revised downwards in this budget. Which makes you wonder how bad its really going to be

.. They don't like chocolate biscuits though , had a right argument about chocolate biscuit donations they did ..

They are only allowed a limited amount of food. So if they had taken the chocolate biscuits they would have been denied something else. I wouldn't blame them for trying to give their kids something healthier than chocolate biscuits. Or try to make out they weren't in need because they rejected junk so they could have something healthier.

Nope ........Nothing wrong with a bit of hardship in my view, it didn't do me any harm ;-) .......

Hopefully it'll give them some incentive to do something about it :-| ........

Although given "generation snowflakes" upbringing I doubt it *-) .......

If the establishment is unhappy about the nations " productivity " - why don't they just change the method of calculating it until they get the results they are looking for ?

That system usually satisfies their supporters..

( Although how they measure productivity in a country that hardly produces anything any more - I don't know ).

;-)

They were given 2 carrier bags each and they weren't concerned about any health issues or their kids health ... They didn't like chocolate biscuits simple as ... I was on a low level flat roof directly above them and could hear all they said ... I said after to the lady handing out the food what I had seen and heard and she unbelievably said we don't want them drinking on empty stomachs ... It's like Bullet says food bank fairy tales

I don't pretend to know how these benefits work but wouldn't you at least need a permanent address to get such a thing?

If that is the case, and with "your" house (and your MiL's house) now being rented out, which in-law have you latched onto now..? ;-)

(presumably the one with a driveway that's big enough for both a mid-90s caravan and an early 90s MH..? (lol) )

Well I don't smoke or drink alcohol so have been dismayed to see them spend money I have given them for food on alcohol instead. But when their lives are so awful I can understand them wanting alcohol to give them some respite from it. :-( They don't have the luxury of being able to plan ahead. Maybe all they have to to look forward to is the next drink. :-(

One of the reasons why food banks are so important. If you give them food instead of money they can't spend it on booze. But what do you do for those who are worst off - like the single guy of working age withouit disabilities which the DWP seem to ignore. Not very practical to give him a carrier bag full of food that needs carrying around then preparing and heating. Whilst the Duke of Westminster inherits £10bn tax free, the guy sleeping rough is about to get another tax slapped on him with the tax on takeaway food cartons.

...and there's the evidence of utter stupidity.  Giving most all of those people cash merely feeds their alcohol habit whereas those with any sense can do what my daughter used to do....befriend one and take him to a cafe and buy him breakfast.  At least then she was assured he was getting at least one decent meal and a steaming mug of tea almost every day.

Any credible newspaper wouldn't post statistics like his because how do you know you have counted them all?

Dailty Mail even contradicts itself by saying

The US has the third highest number of male escorts worldwide, with the UK coming in third.

Then it posts a list showing US coming in third and UK fourth..

But this crap obviously sells papers.
