Anyone know of 1) Campsites or aires within striking distance of Paris? The nearer the better, of course. 2) Also, are there any campsites within the environs of London?. Keith T Posted March 18, 2007 Share Posted March 18, 2007 For motorhome use, best is Caravan Club Abbey Wood, for London. abt 25/35 mins by train, station is 5 mins walk from site, with trains every 10-15 mins, returning from London (Charing Cross) until aroun midnight. Alternatiuely, Crystal Palace CC site, using no3 bus, but can change at brixton onto Undergraound. Returning at night not so good, though as although they shoudl be evry 15 mins, they seem to run out of sync, and often you can wait 30 mins and 2 or 3 will come along together. You may need to check availability at peak periods. For Paris, we stayed at Bois de Bolougne, a good site alongside the River, near to Longchamps Race course.. Bus from site or round the corner to the Metrostation, then stright into Paris. Site is a bit 'old', but servicable for a few days. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
