French Election Result

It is indeed a great result. Ok so there has been something of a rise to the far right in parts of Europe but it's great to see that its just not enough and the French result firmly puts that horrible woman and what her party stands for firmly in its box. Looks like the UK and the USA will be the only ones to fall for this populist nonsense. Well done France!

A superb majority margin to be really proud of too.........a massive 22.6%. Compare that to the pathetically tiny margin of just 3.78% with Brexit and it's easy to see how it's left the UK more bitterly divided than it's ever been.

Despite the media , establishment and other parties blocking her she wins over a third of the votes ... 5 more years of regular Jihadi slaughter on the street of France will sway many next time and remember French youth are her biggest backer ... Well done Le Pen and fair play to Macron and goodbye to the French socialist disaster Hollande ... She won't go away ! ... I love Marine xxxxxxxxx

Yet ;-) .........

He won because he wasn't Le Penn........I wonder what effect another 5 years of mass migration and terrorism will have? :-| .....

After all the far right is now the official opposition in France >:-) .......

I'll tell what I think might happen. Trunp and Brexit will be a complete disaster, Europe and the EU will unite and stand firm and not back down to the UK demanding to cherry pick bits of the EU pie. Initially the UK media will rally the blinkered into getting behind Brexit and anti EU feeling here may rise (initially).

Meanwhile the EU will sort its game out and while the UK and USA suffer the other western countries will realise they the have made the right decision not going down the far right path.

Maybe they will start to sort out the immigration / refugee crisis but im not sure whoever is in power can do much about the pockets of home grown terroism that's happening around Europe.

I don't think either candidate in France was that popular looking at the turnout though but clearly Le Penn did not have anywhere near the support some thought she had

The EU united? (lol) .........Nah they're just pretending they are ;-) .......Just like France is pretending they've solved their problems by voting in the Vanilla option >:-) .......

Macron hasn't even got a political party yet 8-) .......

Some 34.8 million voters went to the polls, with turnout at 75.3 per cent according to the French Interior Ministry – the lowest percentage since the 1969 election.

This means that 11.4 million of the 47 million who are registered to vote chose not to – higher than the number that voted for Ms Le Pen.

A further three million (8 per cent of voters) voted blanc – meaning that they handed in an empty ballot, while a further million (3 per cent) spoiled their ballot in protest – another record for France.

So to look at the result through 'Remoaners' eyes it was a bit of a disaster......:

11,400,000 DIDN'T BOTHER TO VOTE

3,000,000 HANDED IN BLANK BALLOT PAPERS

1,000,000 HANDED IN SPOILED PAPERS

Of 47,000,000 who were entitled to vote 15,400,000 were either not bothered or handed in a 'protest' vote.  Therefore there is a disaffected/dissatisfied group of French voters who make up almost 33% of the electorate.

Now as Macron was voted in with 20,700,000 votes that indicates that 'of those who voted' there is only a gap of 14,100,000.  Add to that the spoiled ballots and the 'non voters'  (who of course will claim Macron has stolen their future and will take court action to stop the democratic process....hehe)....................... and you have a total of 29,500,000 who didn't want Macron....now that's hardly democratic is it Remoaners???

Surprised you are so enthusiastic for the leader of a party with its roots in the Nazi collaborators of the Vichy regime. Le Pen herself is a Holocaust denier. Many of our parents and grandparents fought this evil, yet you appear to want them to succeed, we thought better of you Antony.

Ah......a Republican pro-Trump supporter who tried to sue a dead man for defamation, then ends up getting slapped with a $3 million lawsuit from a woman Woods claimed to be giving a Nazi salute at a Bernie Saunders rally.

Well. 'a woman' certainly was giving a Nazi salute....but not the woman Woods claimed it to be.....as it turned out the woman who was, was a supporter at a Trump rally!! (lol)(lol)

Give 'em enough rope etc etc... ;-)

Which ironically is not that far from the number of people qualified to vote here in UK who didn't on the Referendum. Slightly less than 28% around 13 million.

Now as Macron was voted in with 20,700,000 votes that indicates that 'of those who voted' there is only a gap of 14,100,000. But as a fanatical Brexiteer you claimed your "victory" with a tiny gap of 3.78% and just 1,269,501 votes was democratic, but threw your toys out the pram at the suggestion of a second vote being called.

So using your viewpoint of the French result, the Referendum was 'hardly democratic' and a second ballot, just as Farage would have wanted seeing a 52-48 as "unfinished business", should have been called. As i said to you on another thread, what had you to fear, what could you possibly lose with all those millions of potential voters to persuade?

No it's not. She's still cut from the same cloth and only kept him out the party in her attempt to bid for Presidency.

Check your history before spouting off ... Your typical left/wet/liberal agenda regarding Le Pen and Jews and the war needs some research ... Marine Le Pen is not a holocaust denier as her father is , that is like saying that possibly my father is a Muslim peadophile so I must be ... I want Le Pen to succeed because thats the only way for France and Europe as far as I'm concerned , you have a different view and well done you but it is a view in France that is becoming less and less ... Macron is a lame duck President that will vacate the seat to Marine or another of her beautiful family members in 5 years or less ... One thing we can both agree on is that Jihadi slaughter on French streets will only get worse and play straight into the hands of the Le Pens of this world ... God Is Great !

518 people murdered (slaughtered to use your term) in England and Wales last year. Not that any killing is right i just wondered if you have the figure for those killed on the streets of France during the same period by "Jihadi slaughter" you keep mentioning? I'm genuinely interested as it's always good to get these things into perspective.

Not me matey....I just voted and acepted the result....THE DEMOCRATIC RESULT irrespective of the margin so it really is about time you 'Remoaners' accepted that 'fact' that not all 'leave' voters are as fanatical as you 'whining remoaners' clearly are seeing as it is your lot making the most noise about 'LOSING'!

....Yet again the point has been missed or is it too difficult for you lot to accept :
Macon took sufficient votes to win and looking at the result through 'Remoaners' eyes there are sufficient non voters (boohoo someone stole my future your lot have been heard to claim regarding the UK vote) and spoiled/protest papers that had they voted differently then probably Le Pen would be in office.

BUT, and here is where those of us who are able to accept the democratic process differ from your whining, bleating, childish (it's not fair....boohoo....) side of the issue.......we can accept the ballot count.....we can accept democracy and move on.  Why can't you remoaners do the same???

You strutted and chest puffed about British justice being decided in British courts for Britain......but the first taste you got of it was met with wails of "Enemies of the People" from your screechy Beano rag and threats from Brexiters to murder and rape Gina Miller.

Such a 'lovely' bunch of people you associate with. :-(
