Yet another US school mass shooting in Texas.....9 pupils and a teacher mown down and killed by a 17 year old student with a gun. :-(

TEN school mass shootings in just the past three months. *-)

Trump twaddles on Twitter about 'protecting students and securing schools' met by much scorn and derision as can be seen; https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/997515759281680385

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/texas-high-school-lockdown-amid-reports-active-shooter-n875341

An Instagram account that appears to belong the 11th-grader shows him following multiple gun-related accounts, including ‘sickguns,’ ‘gunspictures’, as well as others called Guns Fanatics, Guns Lovers and Guns Glory.

Say's it all really. *-)

I blame the bullet makers..........Without them a gun is useless :-| .........

NATO qual munitions and weaponry has long been on open sale in the US.....sold by idiots for idiots protected by idiots who incant their ridiculous 2nd amendment rights not realising the days of a 'regulated millitia to secure the state' disappeared long back. Thats the job of a military force....not a bunch of wild rednecks running riot.

The real criminal is in the White House funded by his criminal NRA chums. That's where the criminality is because neither have the slightest interest in bringing in gun control. Less than a year ago Trump tore up a regulation introduced by Obama which tightened up background checks over the sale of guns to anyone with mental health issues.

The thread is about a mass school shooting in Texas and issues over lack of gun control.....nothing to do with child grooming at all.

Horrible disgusting tragedy ... Used his fathers rifle and pistol ... No sane person would blame POTUS Trump for over 100 million guns in the USA and no sane person would blame POTUS Trump for some 17 year old loop going off and carrying out a copy cat school shooting ... Gun and knife control wont stop loops just as gun , knife and acid control dont stop loops here in London ... Shocking that someone starts a thread like this hours after a massacre and says " The real criminal is in the White House "

Agreed, you can't blame Trump for the past but you CAN blame him for failing to address the problem NOW.

He has the opportunity to pick up where Obama left off and try to start changing things NOW.

It will be a long process as so many guns are in legal circulation but the only change he wants are more people carrying more guns, harly a solution is it?

Hardly the actions of a responsible president is it?

?

Seems like a daft idea but should WE give it a try ?

Could knife crime in the U.K. could be eliminated by giving all our youngsters a gun on their sixteenth birthday ?

What could possibly go wrong ?

Great idea Malc.

But we would have to give them all silencers as well or the Noise Abatement Society would complain.

Then again it could well go some way to reducing the unwanted immigrant issue.

Turns out the 17 year old killer was a Trump fanatic as well as obsessed over guns so was already a lost cause. Obama introduced legislation enforcing tighter checks on those with mental health issues buying guns.....Trump tore it up. http://fortune.com/2018/02/15/trump-shooting-mental-illness/

It certainly isn't......but then the NRA pumped $30 million blood money into his campaign. :-(

Fox News, Trumps favoured media source, now trying to diminish the shooting by suggesting the "new mode of killing is by knives like ISIS" and kids are going to emulate them and "start cutting people up in schools".

Anything to detract from guns. *-) Loons like him live in a parallel universe. *-)

That's no excuse at all, in fact it's the poorest excuse i've read. They should have been kept secured and locked....but there is no requirement in the US for that unlike here.

Because it was. You're looking for a way to diminish yet another horrible massacre of school children by blame shifting elsewhere. Trump does it, Pence did it, and some clown on Fox news. Anything but acknowledging where the real problem is and addressing it. 2nd Amendment is outdated and out of touch with reality as the need for a "well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State" disappeared way back. The military took over that work but NRA nutjobs insist on living in the past of wild west days.

Licenced guns here in UK have to be kept in secured purpose built cabinets and locked. Even a drink/drive offence will see your licence revoked. The laws on gun licencing here are extremely strict for very good reason.

No bluff at all. There were no reports of his father having mental issues and even if he had, Trump gave them their licences back after revoking a law Obama had put in place to tighten up on that specific background, not to mention the cuts Trump also made to the mental health budget. So i'm surprised you even tried using that bit of whataboutery in the first place as it doesn't put your mate in a very good light either way. But then pro-Trump/NRA supporters are desperately trying anything to deflect from the root cause.
