Bulletguy
Watching the London Marathon today and the mens winner, Eliud Kipchoge, ran the second fastest time in the history of the marathon at 2hr 2min 37sec. The guy just kept going like a machine.....incredible run! Farah came fifth three minutes back.....and still to win a London Marathon. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/athletics/48083112 Good old Ron! Violet1956
I went with my OH to watch it from Blackfriars Bridge as my niece was running. She came in at a respectable 3.41, though she wanted sub 3.30 and was disappointed. The front runners were amazing to watch first hand. They are machines. First time I've gone to watch from the sidelines and the atmosphere was fantastic. We hear so much about how London is an awful place, it's days like these that show you that it is nothing of the kind. Everyone was so polite, in excellent humour and to be traffic free along the Embankment was a joy.
Bulletguy
I felt sorry for Big Ben!! (lol) Obviously he hadn't quite thought everything through! (lol) https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=749221018805628 Well done to your niece though she shouldn't be disappointed with that time. Just completing a marathon alone is damned hard. Funny how most of the elite runners as they call them are all small wiry little folk with barely an ounce of meat on them where someone like Bolt is 6'4"......but doesn't run distance.
