Bazza454
Anyone used or have any experience of the new PocketSurfer?I know that there are many alternatives, some possibly cheaper, but do I like the idea of accessing e-mails etc wherever there is a mobile phone signal rather than dragging the laptop around trying to find a hot spot.http://www.roadpro.co.uk/retail/product_search.aspx?mode=quick&search=pocketsurfer

Bazza454
Mel B - You can't use the PocketSurfer as a phone, it's purely for accessing the internet.M - Cost is around £179 with free internet access for the first year. Most retailers are out of stock at the moment and are expecting supplies in around 10 days.Checking with the sister in law in the USA, she says make sure that you go for the PocketSurfer2, apparantly this is much improved on the original.Reviews here -http://stuff.tv/news/pocketsurfer2-catches-free-gprs-web-waves/default.aspx

Bazza454
Hi M,I'm certainly not an expert, hence my request if anyone had any experience of using these things, but my understanding is that WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) uses radio waves whereas the PocketSurfer uses a built in GPRS modem.
