Politicians can't risk telling lies .....

A politician, who had a wife and 12 children, needed to move because his rental agreement was terminated by the owner who wanted to reoccupy the home. But he was having a lot of difficulty finding a new house. When he said, he had 12 children, no one would rent a home to him because they felt that the children would destroy the place. He couldn't say he had no children, because he was wary of being caught in a lie.  Politicians cannot risk being caught in a lie.

So, he sent his wife for a walk to the cemetery with 11 of their kids. He took the remaining one with him to see more rental homes with the real estate agent. He loved one of the homes and the price was right -- the agent asked:"How many children do you have? He answered: "Twelve" so the agent asked where the others were.

The politician, with his honest but sad politician face on, answered  “They're in the cemetery with their mother."

I think you'll find that politicians very rarely lie. ( Well, not the brighter ones )

If the press and the public say they have lied it's usually because they didn't listen properly to what the politician said.

The most common example is : " We have no plans at the moment to raise taxes "

They say that on a Friday.

On the following Monday they raise taxes.

Everyone shouts " Liar ! "

But in fact they are not lying because they didn't come up with the plan to raise taxes until Sunday.

( The words to look out for are " at the moment " ).

;-)
