RMT leader attacked

Recommended Posts

Steve Hedley, senior assistant general secretary of the RMT was the victim of an “unprovoked” attack by a mob after he addressed a counter-protest to a rally in support of Donald Trump and the jailed far-right leader Tommy Robinson.

“We got attacked by a load of thugs, completely unprovoked.

“We defended ourselves obviously and there were a lot of casualties on both sides. But it was a completely unprovoked attack – we were just sitting there having a drink.

“If you oppose Tommy you get attacked by a glass and a chair – we have to stop this.”

He described the attackers as being from the far-right English Defence League, which Robinson used to lead.

Ugh.....very nasty people with very nasty mindsets.

Arrested on the same charges, assault and violent disorder, so no difference in levels of 'nastiness' there.

You've got your left and right confused. Fascism is extreme right wing, not left. Mussolini, Hitler, Mosley and Thatchers big pal, Pinochet, were all fascists. Dictators that suppress opposition and criticism and are aggressively nationalistic and racist. Their servile followers abide, swoon and fawn over them.

Shaven heads is just the thug element because they think that makes them look 'tough'. Not all appear that way. Some attempt to hide behind a mask of respectability or normality but that quickly slips in conversation.

I dunno.... I reckon if the cap fits ;-) ...........

Fascism

Fascism is a form of radical authoritarian ultranationalism, characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition and control of industry and commerce, which came to prominence in early 20th-century Europe.

Just because you don't like Corbyn doesn't make him or his views 'fascist' i'm afraid. In fact i imagine he'd find your view quite amusing!

Fascism

A political system based on a very powerful leader, state control, and being extremely proud of country and race, and in which political opposition is not allowed.

An authoritarian and nationalistic right-wing system of government and social organization.

Extreme authoritarian, oppressive, or intolerant views or practices.
