I'm not a Socialist.

I believe in Free Enterprise.

Thats why I don't like the Tories rent-extracting economy posing as Free-Enterprise.

But if we have to have Socialism I would rather see Corbyn's Socialism for the Poor than the Tories Socialism for the Rich.

I'm not a saint.

If I'd had the chance to buy a Council House for a quarter of its value I'd probably have done so - who wouldn't.

But I still think its a bad policy - attack the system not the individuals.

I may be selfish but at least I am not selfish enough to oppose new house building like the Nimbys and Landowners in the Tory Partty.

Hi John52,

It's a matter of scale. You'd make the effort to buy something worth six figures at a discount. Others would use the same logic to go down to that big warehouse place where they can get free/cheap food.

Do food banks sell food cheaply, or do they give it away? I'm ignorant about such things.

The right to express an opinion on the widening gap between the have and the have nots and to maintain that government policy should change in order to address that gap is not the solely reserve of the poor. I haven’t sought to exclude myself from the prospect that I might be one of those who would lose out if the government introduced measures to narrow the gap so in my book I am not a hypocrite.
