The orange man has just slapped 25% tariffs on all steel and aluminium imports.

Apparently he doesn't like China "flooding the market driving down prices".......yet the US imports very little steel from China. Canada is it's main customer.

Strange how your happy with EU tariffs ... After complaints from Spanish orange growers about cheap South African oranges the EU upped the tariff from 3.2% to 16% but strangely I never heard you mention that at the time ... Aaaaah of course because it had nothing to do with POTUS Trump did it ... Your amazing

Seems to me Trump is targeting the EU rather than just the UK ;-) ...........

So another good reason to be out of the EU and able to do our own deals with the US B-) ........

Except that the cars and stuff we export to US depend on our free trade of components from within the EU

Which is why Mrs May will ensure they are one of the cherry's she'll prolly pick ;-) ........

But it won't be called cherry picking it'll be dressed up with EU speak, as if they allowed it as a concession for us to buy their components to build their cars :D .........

EU ranks as the US top export and 2nd for imports so only an absolute idiot on a suicide mission would pick a trade war with their best supplier and customer involving $ billions.

If you thought UK needed to leave the EU for that then you're an even bigger dummy head than i imagined. *-)

However we still import more than we export and as John said cars being our main export, that will now suffer from Brexit.

As usual you doubt wrongly though how that is relevant to the point in question is beyond me. We are talking in terms of multi billions and millions of employees......not a couple of hundred quid off a few pelmets knocked out in a garden shed by a part timer. *-)

So we hear today that UK/US Open Skies negotiations have broken down because America was offering us a worse deal out of the EU than we had when we were in

The latest here on it from FT. Brexiteers seem to have gone strangely quiet about it.

https://www.ft.com/content/9461157c-1f97-11e8-9efc-0cd3483b8b80

I couldnt read the FT article but there is more here.

http://uk.businessinsider.com/open-skies-us-trade-deal-brexit-trump-2018-3

Doesn't bode well for the Brexiteers who were pinning their hopes on Mr (You've been Tangoed) Trump does it?

Wont make a dot of difference to you Barry one way or t'other ... Remember you said you'd rather starve than do a deal with POTUS Trump ... You always wanted to lose weight so I'm looking forward to that though your local kebab shop owner may be disappointed ... Maybe some of your kebab meat came from that slaughterhouse in North Yorkshire near to you who were filmed cruelly halal slaughtering animals ... Enjoy

It will make a difference to everybody (well not the Brexit power moguls of course) as its just one more nail in the coffin of our economy. Told you before. I dont eat Kebabs in the UK as they are generally sh1te. Your right though about one thing though, I will certainly boycott any food stuffs that work their way into our system post Brexit from the USA along with millions of others I hope.

Boycotting food from anywhere is your right Barry and personally I wouldn't buy chlorinated chicken either just as I don't knowingly buy halal slaughtered food ... Do you buy halal slaughtered food ??? ... You must because you buy I what I presume are halal slaughtered kebabs

Talking of boycotting foods a good start would be getting Maccy D junk food shops shut down. I've never ventured there since a burger pal of mine dragged me to one years ago saying how 'wonderful' their Big Macs were. I took a couple of bites into what felt like mush in a bun and threw the rest in the bin. Good job he was paying.

Horrible muck. Sadly kids seem to like 'em which is why we've got so many preteen fatties wobbling around the streets. Thank God my son keeps both my grand children away from that American junk.
