What a common sense approach ...You can imagine the uproar here if such a thing was brought in.

Branding them as "ghetto's" and "ghetto children" is a blatantly obvious link to Nazi Germany's treatment of Jews, it's understandable why there would be 'an uproar' here.

We have many enclaves of Orthodox Jews in UK. Would you suggest it's 'a common sense approach' to brand them "ghetto's" and their children "ghetto children"?

Danish Social Democrat Yildiz Akdogan is right.

Yes you did as above ^^. Now see how silly that is when quoted in it's full context rather than attempting to duck out of it by using the first three words?

Sorry Antony but as much as i know you like to "win" (by your own admittance), on this you've scored a spectacular own goal. Applauding ghettoisation as "a common sense approach" is exactly how Hitler and the Nazis began turning German people, fuelled by hatred, against the German Jew. Antisemitism is no different to Islamophobia. Both are rooted in and fuelled by hatred. They are both the same.

The mother mentioned in the link is yet to give birth. When she does her baby will be Danish by nationality....for life. What faith he/she follows should have no bearing on the nationality they are born into. Branding her a "ghetto parent" and her unborn child, a "ghetto child" is truly sick. It's certainly guaranteed to further isolate ethnic minorities.

Isn't it better to try to bring Muslims into Danish life rather than keep them isolated ???

Then start treating them as equals and not sub-humans, as you pointed out about German Jews.

I've already clearly explained how and why their measures will lead to further isolation rather than encourage them into a 'Danish' way of life, making punitive charges against them for any wrong doings at double that of their Danish equal, separated from their families for at least 25 hours a week from the age of one year whilst other Danish citizens are free to choose whether to enrol children in preschool up to the age of six.

Some Muslim children speak Danish with such fluency they don't even have an accent and some don't even speak Arabic. After all......they are Danish.

Before you two scratch each other's eyes out, the word ghetto, geto, or ghèto, is Venetian Italian, and seems first to have been first used in 1516 for the Jewish quarter in Cannaregio, in Venice, to which Jews were restricted. :-) It was later adopted more widely to describe any area that was predominantly migrant populated.

The Danish government has apparently adopted the term to describe majority migrant areas since at least 2010, so its adoption in normal parlance would be quite well established by now. An unfortunate choice perhaps, but seemingly not necessarily a reference to the ghettos created by the Nazis to restrict the movement of Jews.

I think both Oxford and Cambridge definitions sum it up perfectly Brian. It's not an effort to integrate, more an effort to isolate and sow bitter resentment.

Well yes, but, that is English usage, which may not be mirrored in other languages. Still an unfortunate choice.

Extremely....though i feel it's intentionally insensitive. Start using the same terminology for Orthodox Jewish enclaves here in UK and see the reaction that would get.

What do you mean "become more German"? THEY WERE German you dummy!! *-)

And also 'active in the community' until some maniac who wanted to rule the world ghettoised them before having them slaughtered in gas chambers.

We all know about German/Jewish history too so no need for any history lessons

You definitely need some! 8-)

I asked the question "did Nazi Germany want Jews to be active in the community and become more German" didn't I silly billy ...

Yes you did as above ^^. Now see how silly that is when quoted in it's full context rather than attempting to duck out of it by using the first three words?

In the eyes of Nazi Germany Jews weren't German they weren't even human they were sub-human ... Stop being a silly billy because thats how your coming across as really silly

They call them ghetto children or ghetto parents regardless ...

Which is morally wrong on so many levels. Disgusting and shameful.

You've mentioned Danish Muslim wrong doings , I didn't and no one else did so what are those wrong doings you talk of ???

Don't you ever read beyond a header to articles you link?? Read the damn article. *-)

Post it or is it more fantasy ???

Here that ... Wind ... Hes full of it

Well yes, but, that is English usage, which may not be mirrored in other languages. Still an unfortunate choice.

Extremely....though i feel it's intentionally insensitive. Start using the same terminology for Orthodox Jewish enclaves here in UK and see the reaction that would get.

We don't have Jewish ghettos here in the UK and im not aware of any elsewhere ...

The connotation of the word is patently clear and not the way forward. The one sensible point you made was posing the question, "isn't it better to try to bring Muslims into Danish life rather than keep them isolated?" Of course it is, so how do you believe branding Danish born citizens "ghetto children" purely because their birth parent is Muslim will not further isolate? Treat them as equals.....not sub-humans with a tag name. The word 'ghetto' is isolationist itself. It's purposely divisive.

An isolated or segregated group or area.

An area of a city, especially a very poor area, where people of a particular race or religion live closely together and apart from other people.

A part of society or group that is in some way divided from the main part.

The yanks ... They have ghettos and mainly black ones

Yes because of their warped racial hatred from backward white supremacists. Very nasty people.

Islam is positively anti nonbelievers so the only way you'll change that is in the early years before they get brainwashed by the so called Religion of Peace :-| ..............

As with other faiths there are believers and non-practising. I was brought up Christian but haven't been to church for years though i don't feel that necessarily affects 'a belief'. After my dad died my mum took in a couple of lodgers, one of whom was Muslim but 'non-practising'. He knew my mum was a practising Christian (regular church go-er etc) and respected her views and moral standards. In fact he'd best be described as a perfect gentleman who was very kind to my mum and when he bought his own house, often invited her round as by then he was married and his parents moved to the Midlands.

Some have a faith, some don't. Some can be bad people...even with a faith, many not. You cannot ever generalise.

How can the forced separation of a one year old child from its mother for a minimum of 25 hours a week based on your faith or race ever be right?

I'm all for integration and the westernisation even of those that come here to Europe but that does seem extreme to me. Something does need to be done though to encourage integration but I am not sure you can do it by force without creating further resentment.

So Denmark can't ask for anything back ??? Just give housing , welfare , education , health care etc etc and not ask for integration into Danish life ... Lordy ... Would Danes be entitled to feel "resentment" towards those who give nothing to their society and just take ??? ... Of course they'd have every right to feel "resentment" wouldn't they but your sympathies lie elsewhere I guess ... Wake up before it's too late

Unemployed pay tax and migrants are helping pay for Denmark's tax cuts after welfare reform.
