In any trade deal with the US we will be like a minnow in a shark tank, it will also weaken the EU so its a win win for Trump. Who is going to hold all the cards in this new deal when all roads lead to Trump on our departure? Whichever way you look at it the old faithful "Plucky British Spirit" does not change the figures in that chart that show that the odds are very much stacked against us in any trade deal with the US but on the other hand whilst part of the EU we collectively are a force to be reckoned with, even for Trump and the USA. We already have a raft of agreements (not FTA) with the USA which we have as being members of the EU. We lose all that when we leave and will be beholden to what the USA offers us. They are going to shaft us every which way but Tuesday. Make no mistake. They are not our friends when it comes to business. They are already interfering. Threats about Huawei and now apparently they are going to "prevent" Corbyn becoming PM. now you might think thats a good thing but its already showing us who will be boss. I also said in the text above that it would weaken the EU when we left so of course those figures for the UK can be deducted from the EU column but thats the point. Together we are stronger, on our own we are weak. Trump taking advantage of a weakened EU will also effect us badly. The first two columns were a chart that was doing the rounds yesterday on social media, I added the extra column. WTF has the EU army got to do with anything? Trump in the past has accused the UK of "freeloading" because it pays less for drugs than private hospitals in America because of the regulatory body in the UK "NICE". All that will be toast. Just one of the demands (just one) will be that the UK is forced to pay top whack for US pharmaceuticals within the NHS. It wont be a question of whether we decide we want to buy them or not. We will literally have to buy them or face a law suit. It will be another knife thrust in the death of a thousand cuts for the NHS which will neatly move it closer towards it being flogged off lock stock and barrel to the Americans. Its is after all what Farage and a lot of the Tories want. We have already seen the kind of brave new world the Tories will create under your hero Boris. Scrap the free TV licences for the poor old pensioners but give the seriously well paid a £10 bn tax break. The only poetic justice in all of this is that its the very people who voted for Brexit and who are now frothing at the mouth to get Boris elected that will suffer the most. How come youve never mentioned the NHS being over charged before , as in now in the real world and not the you haven't got a clue what will happen world after Brexit ...
