Wild/Free camping

I’d like to try wild/free camping but I’m a little concerned about safety if pitched in an isolated area. Would it be safer to pitch in a side street outside someone’s house?

If so, would you consider it reasonable to ask the person living in the house if one could top up one’s water tank and empty the toilet cassette down their loo before moving on?

I know of some people who would be only to happy to let you join them on their wild camping area. It might be a bit noisy at night though cos its a gypsy camp at the side of the M5. But they're really quite friendly, once you get past the three Rottweillers and 47 kids. There'll be a plentiful supply of car spares to pick from and they'll probably tarmac a plot for you for a good price (just don't forget to haggle, they expect it).
