route maps

I have tried differerent maps on the computer but Maggie has trouble reading/following them & i must admit so do i. What is the best one you have used to get from A to B.

BTW i dont want a 'tom-tom'

Have you tried Autoroute? We used it for journey planning for a number of years, we have also used it with a USB sat receiver and found it excellent, before buying a stand alone sat nav.

Another vote for Autoroute easy to use and you can get a printout of your route giving all road numbers and turns.

Autoroute is very good and I usually get the latest version when it comes out.

A good and much cheaper alternative is the ACSI DVD which costs around £10 and has thousands of campsite locations on the map and with the built in route planner it is easy to get routes and maps. You can zoom in to street level and see exactly where the campsite is located. You can also show only campsites that have certain facilities, like wifi, or which ones accept the ACSI Camping Card or Opening dates.

Maps of the route or campsite locations can then be printed out if required.

Google 'maps' is quite good - gives you route, mileage, timing and a map on which you can 'drag and drop' the blue line showing the route if you want to make a detour.
