Gas Alarm

This alarm is a simple device and DOES NOT, repeat NOT, detect every gas known to man.

Some idiot posted here that the Lidl alarm does go off if you squirt damp start at it, and therefore claimed it detected ether. He suggested it for use as a narcotic gas alarm - which having contacted the manufacturers I can confirm it does not.

It is also NOT self-powered (if the power fails it does not continue to operate unlike a battery unit).

This alarm does what it says on the pack - detects methane, propane and butane only ... just so long as it is plugged in - no more, no less.

There are many better proprietary machines designed to detect monoxide (most dangerous) and smoke - which should certainly should have.

As for other risks - it's up to you!

Well my reference to ether was certainly meant to be toungue in cheek :-S

Still seems a reasonable price if anyone wants one.
