I'd appeciate any recommendations on sites on the coast so we can catch some sun. Thanks in advance. . Tom In my view and experience the Algarve is too cold and generally wet until the end of Feb. If you want sun in Nov/Dec then stay in Spain on the southern Med. It's never guaranteed, it's just a better bet.
mjay
The Algarve motorhome park next to Continents in Silves is a nice place. If you have the book of aires for Spain/Portugal it,s number 128.
Matrix Meanderer
Agree with the OP. We got wet on our only trip there and it's much cooler than Spain. The Atlantic depressions hit Portugal first so rain guaranteed. If you must go, we also recommend that you avoid Albufeira - dreadful place! Solwaybuggier
You might want to look at Mikki’s place near Pera- sort of an Aire, I think it does get booked up, and it’s not immediately near anything, but is beautiful and very relaxed. http://www.mikki-place-to-stay.com . We came for 1 night and have been here 5.
