Black streaks

When we purchased our new Rapido last year we had the Supaguard finish applied in the belief that it would make cleaning easier but I've get lots of black rain streaks that are difficult to remove. If I spply a wax finish would it make removal any easier and if so can anyone recommend a good easy to apply wax please.

I'm trying desperately to NOT apply any polish on my M/H, I think once you start you have to keep on doing it, but on my classic sports car, a Royale Sabre, I use a specialist polish called Nyalic, from a small company near Melton Mowbray

Only applied it once and the shine is still as good as when I did it. Not cheap but then we all know the old maxim, buy cheap, buy twice..

As regards getting the black marks off, there's a few good marine products that do the job well on fibreglass. One I've used to good effect is Wipe Out but of course that'll take all your polish off too. I'd be tempted to just use a foam wash and elbow grease,

I use this stuff on my 2015 Rapido

This is not a polish, so it’s vital that the vehicle is really clean before applying the wax. It is easy to apply (as it says in the advert), goes a long way, one treatment lasts a long time and ‘streaking’ normally just washes off.

The £15 asking-price (including postage) is the cheapest I’ve been able to find it at, plus you get a sponge applicator pad and a buffiing towel included.

Steve, I've found that Meguiars Car Polish works well for streak removal (and prevention) and it makes your van smell nice too.

We have the nicest smelling van ever :-)

Thank you all, several options there to consider. Makes you wonder whether the cost of the Supaguard treatment was actually worth it and is it actually doing anything.

Steve,

I suspect it has its advantages but then again I was told by a car dealer pal of mine that his franchise receives a big commission for every treatment sold.

I'm a tight arse so a bottle of polish will more than suite my needs.

Cheers,

Andrew

Fenwicks Streak Remover seems to do the trick for me but you need to apply it a couple of times for particularly stubborn streaks.

The dealer wanted £800 to Supaguard my new van last year. I think it came with some guarantee but you had to use their own cleaner every month or so. I decline his kind offer.
