Malcolm Greenhill
Help!! We've just purchased a Fiat Panda Cross 4x4 of '09 vintage. (2nd Generation) I tried to book it in to have an A-Frame fitted so i can tow it behind my Rapido 8094df only to have the A-Frame fitting company tell me it's unlikely I can tow it. Has anyone out there towed, or is towing a Fiat Panda Cross 4x4. All the best Malcolm Greenhill
colin
Check the Panda drivers manual, the one for our 4x4 Ignis warns not to tow the 4x4 version with wheels on road, it has to be trailered.
blaven
Since July 2008 the viscous coupling was replaced by a Magna-Steyr electro-hydraulic coupling similar to Haldex. This is the coupling which activates when one of the driven wheels (front) looses traction, bringing in the (on demand) activation of the rear wheels The above has just been sourced off ‘tinternet. I’m no expert but I don’t think you can tow these vehicles. But maybe I’ll be proven wrong.
Malcolm Greenhill
The Fiat Panda Cross 4x4 manual says you can flat tow the car, The AA say they have not been notified by Fiat of any speed or distance limitations when towing it, but an English speaking Italian lady on the Fiat Global Customer Support line (in Italy) said its not recommended, hence my confusion. An A-Frame fitting company told me it’s unlikely it can be towed and another recommended I remove the rear half-shafts.
