sreve
Hi there I have just fitted a split solar regulator so i can charge my leasure and starter batteries. Just wondering if anyone knows of an easy way to get wires from from the starter battery under the bonnet to the solar regulator which is in a top cupboard in the back of the van behind the drivers seat. I can route it down near the seatbelt and inside the drivers footwell but i can't see an obvious route from there. The van is a 2006 autotrail cheyenne on a ducato chassis. Any help will be most appreciated.
rayc
Is there not a nearer connection point to the cab battery such as the DC distribution system? If you really need to connect it to the battery direct then possible route under the floor along the chassis in Copex?
Ocsid
Where the starter battery is involved, you can, similar as much of the vehicle's wiring, use the vehicle's chassis as a "ground", thus there is no need for through routing "wires", only the positive. My Duo solar controller also features a common ground, so I used that feature in reducing the cabling needed installing the solar system.
