laika123 Posted December 8, 2017 Share Posted December 8, 2017 Hi We have a 2001 Laika (LHD) 200i Ecovip 2.8 TD. It has the original headlights for LHD and we would like to convert these to the correct lights for the UK (the LHD lights are not very good). Has anyone had experience of this conversion please ? Unfortunately the RHD headlights seem to be of the "hens teeth" variety as they appear to be fitted only to Ford Escort XR3i Cosworth or RS2000 of approx 1990-5 era. It appears that there were 2 types of headlights on the performance Fords at this time - a long type and a short type. They look almost identical but the longer (rarer) one had a sidelight inside. Laika used the longer type ! The original Ford headlight (only secondhand) is very , very expensive even if you can find one. Has anyone had experience of this conversion please or have knowledge where we can find the RHD headlight in the Ford Cosworth world ? I have obviously searched the internet comprehensively but cannot find anything. I did find mention that modern replicas may have been made but cannot find anything definite. Thank you for any input.
