I'm thinking of over wintering in Morocco next winter, I've searched the forums and not found any info. I will be travelling with an other motorhome, both of ours are 8 metre plus if this make for any problems.

Please help us with useful info from those who have BEEN there.

http://s358.photobucket.com/user/vindiboy1/library/Campervan%20wanderings%20Morocco We did a three month trip to Morocco in our 8 metre Hymer, no problem at all , got our tickets for ferry from Juan Carlos , plenty of info for him available, we went to Cueta which as you probably know is still Spanish, and had our first night wild camped there, Our first week was very wet real heavy rain and flooded roads but it got better, we used mainly Guardian Aires ? and wild camped where ever we could all very easy, biggest problem we had was kids and adults begging, cant get rid of them but hey ho that is Morocco, we traveled solo and went all over , we traveled from the Moroccan border west wards to the Atlantic coast and then got on the Motorway [JOKE] Donkey carts and cyclist use it too hee hee, from there we went South just wandering as we do, had a great time, felt very safe , and no problems, fuel , water , toilet dumping places and Supermarkets every where and the Souk markets are fabulous. We crossed the border with no problems but you must have the correct forms [Juan Carlos again ] you can get assistance from a " guide " to help you through the borders but we were determined to go it alone, got the run around a bit but all part of the fun , they all want your money of course,Camp sites are available but the few we used were abissmal and the facilities horrendous , may have changed some now. You MUST have a green card to enter Morocco and it MUST be green , ours from Comfort cost us £17 pounds for admin, be careful as you drive, the roads are not the best and Police with Radar guns are frequent, the cops are corrupt and can be negotiated with over the size of the fine, a friend got his fine reduced from 100 euros to 30 equivalent. Whisky was a good bargaining tool for purchase etc.Have fun great Country to visit.

done it a few times and different routes, found algeciras to tanger med a far better route with no toutes or beggars at the morocco end. you are straight onto the motorway south with a petrol station after about 25 miles. toured down the coast to the sahara and through the mountains and only found beggars and touts in the square at marrakesh and a few touts at the holiday coastal area of agadir.. ( but did steer clear of tangier and casablanca0. as has been said, carlos is a good place to get your tickets, with all the paperwork done for you, and it doesnt take long to feel very safe. the guardian aires are safe and cheap, the campsites not expensive, but facilities are not the best!!.! there are now better quality sites ( often run by europeans) but prices are obviously higher. go and enjoy.
