Nonancourt aire is open

Reports on two well known motorhome web sites have indicated this aire has closed. This is not correct as now on aire sending this message. It closed last weekend only for local fete but now open again. It makes a good overnight heading to or from Rouen, is free including services and electricity. Two points to note however, the six marked spaces are very close together so if full is an aire of the pass the salt please genre and as there are only two hook up points if you obtain one first then offer to share with next to come, as we have with French banner now next to us.

Probably the worst Aire in the French system. Definitely the worst we have visited and thats well in the hundreds over the years. Give it a miss, is the best thing.

Oh sorry it has one thing going for it, you can empty your cassette for free.

Yes as we indicated vans are parked very close and were only informing that it is open and useful as an overnight stop. If you want the really worst aire in France then (and we have certainly stayed on hundreds) suggest you visit St Jean de luz not only are vans very close but you have main TGV rail line one side, a very busy main road the other, church bell ringing and for added amusement it is very hard to get the turn into the spaces. By comparison Nonacourt with all services, including electricity ,free and a pleasant town to wonder round is much better.

But enough of this talking Aires down, we have again stayed on some excellent ones this trip. Montignac, Vezac, Montrichard and Objat were all in our opinion first class, all with hook up, lots of space, marked pitches and more.

I think Nonancourt is fine as a transit stop but if it doesn't float your boat then the aire at St Andre de l'Eure isn't too much of a detour, bit of road noise but otherwise ok.

Another one a little bit further down just southeast of Dreux at Nogent le Roi.

That's the beauty of France, if theres one you don't like theres nearly always another nearby.

Pete
