Removing decals

Gentle heat from a hair drier or similar. Pick at a corner with you're finger nail to start then peel back decal, while applying a very gentle heat. If you overheat it the decal will keep breaking. Once removed there will be some residue from the adhesive which comes off easily with white spirits.

You will almost certainly be left with the "ghost" of the original decal which is almost impossible to remove

I find that once the decal is off then the residue cleans easily with Wd40.

If you do this which is fine, then you will have to re polish and re wax. WD40 will remove all existing polishes. Not a problem - just be aware!
