Stopover in Spain

Recommended Posts

Hi, we're off to Spain in early Dec, travelling to Benidorm initially. Thinking of a nights stopover at Dinopolis at Teruel and wondered has anyone stopped over there recently and was it okay as we've not been to it before.

Thanks for any replies.

Hi dolken.

We have not stayed there but these are the last three reviews off http://www.campercontact.com

They all sound good and are very recent

03/09/2016

Overnight on 18/08/16. Nice quiet place but watch where you park. Lawn Sprinklers activate night around 4 pm and this for an hour. Every minute there passes a jet of water on your camper.

25/05/2016

Besides the Mercadonna opposite police station. Super place to visit the little town. On the bike for 10 minutes. Nice and quiet at night

14/05/2016

Overnight on May 6, 2016. Quiet and safe place. Point of attention is the following night went at 5 am the grass sprinklers for half an hour. We turned out exactly to be above; a special experience it was noisy at night.

The above a 'mechanical' translations.

The last time we overnighted there was about 2 years ago. we parked on a very large car park outside Dinopolis (if that's how you spell it) It was very quite, and we were on our own for once.

At the other end of the car park is a McDonalds, a Repsol that sold lpg, and a supermarket,(not a Mercadona). There was a proper cafe for the necessary caffeine fix, not the McD's dish water!

We would certainly stay there again, and may well be there again in January! on our way to Costa del Obese. Enjoy.

Thanks for replies, sounds like it might be okay. In the past we've stayed at Navajas on the way down but read about Dinopolis and thought we might give it a try. Whilst looking into this I've also come across an aire at Sergorbe, about 60km further south on the A23. We'll see how the day goes and decide as we go along.

Earlier this year we stayed at Teruel here 40.330722 -1.092873 its just a very large quiet car park behind the Mercadona supermarket next to a school. We had no issues, there were another couple of motorhomes on there at the same time. There are no facilities, but for somewhere to get your head down its ok.

Camping Altomira, Navajas. is a particular favourite of ours, wonderful village with walks, places to run and cycle. The aire at Sergorbe is next to the railway station where you can catch the train back up to Navajas or down to the coast.

If you fancy something different you could drive up from Teruel to Albarracin, a wonderful village where there is a site if you need one or plenty of free camping, again plenty of walks. Enjoy

We stayed at Segorbe last year - it is on street parking but fairly quiet and OK for an overnight stop. There are services there - if you stay watch out for the tree trunks at the very edge of the pavement when you pull away.

Thanks again all, we only intend to stop for a night so will decide between the aire and Teruel. Altamira at Navajas is indeed a lovely site and we've stopped for a few nights in the past, but this time thought a stopover spot would be easier (cheaper too) as it's only a night.
