Tech tower door catches

Assuming you still own a 2011 Le Voyageur motorhome, I’m guessing that the Dometic TecTower will be based on a 7-Series fridge/freezer and the latter’s door catches will be as shown here

The simplest approach would be to do as Robbo suggests and spray a ‘dry’ lubricant (silcone/PTFE) liberally into the catch’s mechanism. If that proves ineffective, you should be able to dismantle the catch easily enough to clean and lubricate its moving parts but (if the catches on my previous Hobby’s Dometic 6-Series fridge/freezer were anything to go by) you’d need to be a mite careful as some of the plastic bits aren’t very strong.

The catch on our previous van started to occasionally play up ( being stiff and/or jamming)..on ours one of the two little "flitches" on the underside of the "slide" ( that operate the cam/hook), started to let go, until such time as it broke altogether.

The "flitches" on the replacement part were thicker (and had more plastic in their "root") and when fitted, the catch had a more definite action to it.

(having said that our van would've been 2007-8 build ?..so the beefier part will probably already be on a 2011 van?...)
