Sunlight 59
Has anybody got any experience of the Transit 2.2 crank pulley, it's an anti vibration unit but I have had 2 fitted in the last 18 months. Is there an underlying problem or is it just bad luck :'(

euroserv
I have seen a few of these. If you don't hear it flapping about in time it will mill it's way through the timing cover and the first real warning you get is the oil warning light! The rubber joint is a shocking piece of design. Just like dual mass flywheels; the minor reduction in vibration/noise is completely out of proportion to the hassle and expense.
Sunlight 59
Thanks for the reply, I guess the only way forward is to carry a spare when traveling out of the country as they really rip you off. I don't suppose you can buy a solid pulley without the rubber?
Derek Uzzell
According to this GOOGLE-search, if the 2.2litre motor’s standard dual-mass flywheel is replaced with a solid flywheel, a ’special’ crankshaft pulley/damper is available. I doubt though that this is solid. https://www.google.co.uk/?gws_rd=ssl#q=ford+2.2+solid+crankshaft+pulley Ask on the Ford Transit Forum, making sure that you specify the output of your motor and that the vehicle is a 2009 model.
