Gas is dangerous - especially escaping gas.

To prevent an accident, go back to whoever carried out the habitation check and ask them to inspect your motorhome’s gas system and advise you on how to use it - and take careful note of what they tell you!!!

You need to appreciate that members of this forum are not able to see your motorhome and, consequently, cannot know what its gas system currently comprises or what modifications have been made to it (eg. the mysterious new tube and horizontal black tap).

Attachng a photo to a posting requires that the size of the file containing the photo be less than 100KB. If the file is larger than that it won’t attach.

But even if you are able to provide photos, that won’t reveal what you are doing (or not doing). You really need a competent person with motorcaravanning experience to check over your vehicle and explain to you how the equipment should be used. And you need to take ******* notice when things are explained to you :$ :$ :$ :$

At the moment you are asking a lot of questions many of which it’s unrealistic to expect to be satisfactorily answered on a motorhome forum. Forum members have done their best, but I believe it’s time you became more proactive and sought advice from human beings with the necessary expertise who can have a face-to-face conversation with you.

If you don’t want to blow up your family, take the necessary action yourself to avoid this by seeking professional advice from a motorhome specialist rather than hoping that use of on-line forums and YouTube will be enough to prevent a catastrophe.

Let's not forget though that we all started at the same place - I cringe now at the amount I didn't know or took for granted about Motorhomes and even after 20+ years have still had to resort to asking what may appear to be simple, basic questions on this very forum. I can't see that ever changing - just recently learned that the Alde heating fluid needs changing every two years (if blue or green fluid used) or every five years (if red fluid used) and I usually take particular note at handover or read the manuals.

Derek is right that gp1 should be taking more care to ask the right questions of the right people - especially those who recently serviced the van for him and made the modifications - but let's still try to be helpful where we can be.

You say you are on a site, but seem reluctant to approach anyone around you for advise, prefering to post each difficulty on a forum which is remote to you & where members can't see what you are doing right or wrong.

Eliminate your frustrations by approaching a fellow motorhome owner. The worst that can happen is that they unable to help. More likely they can sort your problem very easily. Also done be afraid to ask if you can video their explanation so you can refer it in in future.
