Sun shade/Rain shelter

I'm looking for some kind of awning/canopy to use as a sun shade and rain shelter. I know you can get garden gazebos, but something like that would be too bulky. I've looked at carnopies (www.carnopy.co.uk), but the other half thinks they're silly, and I'm inclined to agree that it would be a bit of a hassle putting it up and down all the time. So, are there any universal attachments that can be attached to the tent door to give a bit of a porch? Would it be possible to make one? My tent does have a bit of living space, but it's not big enough for cooking and anyway I have a paranoia about gas cookers in tents.

Hi Anna, Not sure which type of tent you have but Outwell do a side canopy that fits a number of Tunnel tents....(http://www.frontstairs.dk/oaseoutdoorsfrontend/tents.aspx?b=Outwell&bid=2&lid=1&l=en-GB) ....and they also make a 'Tarp' (sun/rain shelter)that you could utilise.... (http://www.outdoormegastore.co.uk/scripts/sh000001.pl?REFPAGE=http%3a%2f%2fwww%2eoutdoormegastore%2eco%2euk%2facatalog%2fOutdoor_Megastore_Camping_Department_1%2ehtml&WD=tarp&SHOP=%20&PREVQUERY=SS%3dtarp%26PR%3d%2d1%26TB%3dA%26SHOP%3d%20&PN=Outdoor_Megastore_Windbreaks_246%2ehtml%23a1960#a1960) Sorry about the long link but couldn't find the 'Tarp' on the Outwell site. Cheers Pete.

Try the Jack Wolfskin web site. They sell a range of specific sunshades. Just ordered one myself today. 4 X 4 metres and a couple of telescopis alloy poles. They have a range of sizes and all have loads of reinforced pegging points and eyelets etc. Weigh less than 2 kilos.
