A bit disappointed in the area (the Vendee) and saw what there was to see. Hit on a cracking campsite about seven miles inland from La Tranche Sur Mer. It is called La Grisse - can't speak highly enough of the site. Wanted to see the big firework spectacular at Puy dou Fou but was fully booked so be prepared, you need to buy tickets a minimum of two weeks in advance. Wanted to go to the Jules Verne museum in Nantes but the main attraction - a huge mechanical elephant which you can ride 'in' only works during July and August (we were there in June).
