B-) ........

I don't necessarily agree with everything she said but wouldn't it be nice if we had someone who could speak as clearly as that.

;-)

You don't agree with this statement?

"From a ECONOMIC perspective, the EU is not shrinking to 27, but to 9 states"

Is it untrue? ;-) ...........

Her Party is anti EU and therefore classed as 'Far Right' ...

... in similar fashion to me being anti EU (in its present form) and being classed by Bulletguy as Far Right, xenophobic, racist, etc., etc.

The bad news for Remoaners is that her Party and others like it from other member States will soon have a major voice in the EU Parliament. If the UK takes part in the upcoming EU Elections there could well be an enlargement of the anti EU representatives from the UK.

Who needs a Brexit? The times they are a'changing. :D

Why do people think the far right taking over Europe is a good thing? I seem to remember it got a bit messy last time that happened. :-(

Im no lefty but it seems to me these people rise up whenever there is some kind of minor crisis and in this case it seems the migration crisis has allowed them to gain some ground. Its the same with Brexit but like Brexit be careful what you wish for. Giving these people power or egging them on will not end well. It never does. Do we learn nothing from history?

Do we learn nothing from history?

What we are currently learning from history is that if the politicians ( European and U.K. ) ignore the concerns of a significant proportion of the electorate - we get Brexit.

Well as far as the UK is concerned the government did ignore vast swathes of the public and their concerns in this country. Unfortunately time and time again they and the media for decades blamed the EU rather than themselves and sadly the public have swallowed it. What is an even bigger travesty is the very people who voted out and bought into the deflection of the EU being responsible for all their ills will suffer the most from Brexit.

Far right is far right. The far right of Nazis in the thirties has nothing to do with the kind of socialism you think it does as has been pointed out to you time and time again on here. They take advantage of stuff like the migrant crisis or a rise in terrorism to whip up hatred and support for their cause. Same thing has happened in the past with communism and the far left. That never ends well either.

A sensible person would describe them as 'further to the right' but if you want to demonise an organisation, 'Far Right' is right up there with 'ISIS' and 'Al Qaeda' to the gullible.

It is also strange that followers of Jeremy Corbyn never refer to him as 'Far Left', which a Marxist actually is. But there again, we all know how successful Marxist Governments have been. Like Laos, PR of China, Vietnam, North Korea ... and let's not forget Cuba. The last two are on bulletgays bucket list of places to visit. 8-)

Coming to you soon courtesy of Labour. :D

Careful Dave, she's an economist (AKA an expert)! :-D

But what a breath of fresh air! Like Malc, I don't agree with all her points, but as an example of speaking truth to power, excellent. Clear, well structured, and well illustrates many of the conceits of the EU, from the Euro to the unresolved external border issue. Definitely one to watch as she matures.

AfD is cut from the same cloth which is why her speech appealed to you so much. It's a far right extremist party with connections to Pegida and Neo-Nazi movements in Germany and is Antisemitic, xenonophobic, and Islamophobic.
