Can't read Daily Mail links because they won't accept my ad blocker.

But your friend Boris *-) has already rejected de funding the BBC

He wants a broadcaster he can take over like Winston Churchill did in the war.

Oh I think that take over is well underway. There are many examples in recent months of the Beeb flying the Tory flag. The odd rogue journalist that speaks out is very quickly "taken care of" now. Its biased alright. In favour of the Tories.

It's a bit ripe, isn't it, Dave P and the Mail, those two exemplars of political neutrality, say the BEEB is biased. How on earth can they tell? Ah yes, because one of the BEEB's senior managers (indirectly) told them so. Good for David Jordan: he considers some of his journalists show bias on Twitter. So, he can presumably now crack the whip a bit and exert more control? But who, apart from a door-knob, is totally without bias?

The issue they picked on was Maitless' report of Cummings trip home and Barnard Castle. There's a court case currently pending against Cummings over that.

If Cummings is found guilty will Maitless still be claimed to have shown bias (but against who/what, Cummings, the government, or the whole Tory party?), or would her "egregious" claim that Cummings had broken the law merely have been correct? After all, she was far from alone in that sentiment, even if in saying so she showed a critical bias against the actions of a person many feel shouldn't be where he is at all. Do people want real people as reporters, party apparatchiks, or mere cyphers? The job of the press is to speak truth to power, because the rest of us don't have adequate voices to do so.

There is no way she should have gone for that. Her job as a journalist is to put forward such an argument which was pretty much most peoples opinions at that time. Its then open for debate throughout the program. The little Englanders wont be happy until the BBC has completely morphed into a Tory echo chamber. I think overall until recently its been fairly balanced but its between such a rock and a hard place now Im not sure its content can be trusted. It will just be another Tory mouthpiece within six months.

Already been tried - look on the TV licence resistance website.

Can't be bothered to find the link as you never look at them.

But they got the minutes of a meeting where your friend you call Boris ruled it out.

Because e wants a broadcaster he can take over.

As if he hasn't already.

Ever wondered why we never find out about things like politicians expense fiddles, Royal family cashing in on their position, Dominic Cummings joyrides during the lockdown, and corruption like this

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/jul/15/coronavirus-contracts-government-transparency-pandemic

from the BBC

Certainly is.

Could hardly be called left wing when you look at the DG's pay package.

Hmmmm. :-D So says the notoriously unbiased Daily Mail! :-D Pot, kettle, and grubby derriere? :-D All media is to some extent politically biased in the opinion of most, but the Daily Mail is least equipped of all to judge bias in the others.

It is the bible of lower middle class conservatives, for whom the slightest whiff of neutrality smacks of Marxism - until, of course, some hardship befalls them - when they complain loudly that they aren't automatically rushed to the head of the queue. Such hypocrisy! :-D
