Bulletguy Posted January 2, 2019 Share Posted January 2, 2019 Some 300 homes sold for more than £10m each in the tax year to April 2017 (the latest for which figures are available), an increase from the 100 sold during the preceding 12 months. The figures, released by HM Revenue and Customs on Wednesday following a freedom of information request, were rounded to the nearest 10 by HMRC. Jonathan Samuels, the chief executive of property lender Octane Capital, said the 13% drop in the value of the pound compared with the dollar since the June 2016 referendum had turned the UK into “a goldmine for foreign investors seeking a bargain”. So much for Brexiteers wanting to stick it to the super rich eh!! And they've even managed to bring in more of them 'funny foreigner' type folk they all love to hate! Tracker Posted January 3, 2019 Share Posted January 3, 2019 I would rather see private jet loads of wealthy investors 'flooding' in and buying expensive property that the vast majority of us would never be able to afford than boat loads of poverty stricken illegals taking up homes that poorer UK taxpayers might have been able to afford, and school place UK kids could use, and NHS hospital beds we who have paid for it all over many years all could use.
