Care home fees

Recommended Posts

When one moves from one home to another, its usual to sell the old home and use the proceeds to pay for the new.

But apparently this offends the Daily Mail.

Apparently the taxpayer (many of whom can't afford one home) should pay for the new home, so the benefit scrounger can have 2 homes and give the old home to their offspring when they die.

So have the Daily Mail changed their mind about all benefit scroungers?

Or do they only support the kind of benefit scroungers who buy their 'newspaper'?

Haven't been on the Daily Mail website because I've got a new Chromebook and I'm trying to keep it clean.

Hey Pelmet! Common ground. I think its a fecking disgrace that those that have contributed all their lives and paid mortgages and amounted savings should see it all frittered away at a huge rate of knots each month once they require care. It should be free for all. Its s**te the way we look after our old people in the UK compared to most European countries. One day I will be old like the rest of you on here but Ive already started putting my money into bin bags which I will bury in a wood with a treasure map that only a trusted carer (probably a young bit of stuff) will have access to. And people say Im as thick as mince.

Don't want to get my new chromebook dirty clicking on that.

Would be nice if we could afford free care for everyone who wants it - including those able to pay for themselves. But then your £billionaire tax haven domiciled Brexit supporting 'newspaper' owners would have to pay taxes like us

I heard (presumably able bodied) people weren't allowed to use the toilets. I don't know what the situation is now. I'm not likely to find out as my visit to Holyrood house, where we subjects were treated like uninvited spectators at a feast, put me off for life. Although I enjoy Versailles where its fully open to the public.

That aside whats 'Looney Lefty' got to do with it?

Well whats your solution?

Can you persuade people like the Daily Mail owner to pay taxes so care can be free for everyone who wants it?

Since leaving the EU will mean their tax treaty can't get into Her Majesty's tax havens and force Brexiteer £billionaires to be subject to the same taxes as us.

Just googled the link where I got this info from:

'There is not a single toilet for public use inside the palace meaning visitors must hold on until they reach portable loos in the garden at the end of the tour.'

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-england-london-41232232/complaints-over-buckingham-palace-s-lack-of-toilets

Are you saying this is wrong?

PS: and is everyone who wants an Elected head of state is a 'Looney Lefty' by your standards *-)

Because on another thread you said it was Socialists who support Unelected Heads of State with the power to shut down the only Elected part of the Government.

You can't have it both ways

So yet again I am struggling to see your Mad Hatter 'logic'

Like you believe Dictators who calls themselves Socialists are Socialists *-)

"Metro" is owned by the same £billionaire who is domiciled abroad to avoid tax. And conning you into voting Brexit to get us out of the EU before he is hit by an EU wide tax treaty. If people like that paid tax we could afford Care home fees for more people, European standard public services, roads, parking etc etc.

And if they didn't rig the housing market to raise rents that guy could probably afford to pay his own from his wages as a Yoga teacher. - Yes he does work. Housing benefits go to super rich landlords like the Duke of Westminster who avoided inheritance tax on £10 billion.

So who is really milking the system the most?
