Company awarded £25 million contract for PPE

Can't help but wonder if this is another Tory party donor. ;-)

Design company Luxe Lifestyle Ltd was awarded a £25 million contract on 27 April to supply garments for biological or chemical protection to the NHS. According to Companies House, the business was incorporated by fashion designer Karen Brost in November 2018. However, it appears to have no employees, no assets and no turnover. https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/11703750

Additional research into the company’s background using business information provider Endole revealed no evidence that the company has actually done any trading at all. It is not clear how a business with no experience in the sector is able to meet its contractual requirements to provide 1.2 million gowns and 10 million FFP2/KN95 masks to the NHS during a national crisis.

I'd prefer taxpayers money was used more responsibly to purchase from established suppliers and manufacturers instead of some shell company with no assets, no turnover, no employees and no manufacturing experience.

Two cases are already subject of a court case and typically your flippant remark shows you don't understand the seriousness of this matter at all. Put your money where your motormouth always is and hand your property deeds over to Ms Brost, then we will see whose laughing.

Along with EveryDoctor, we have instructed leading procurement lawyers Jason Coppell QC and Brendan McGurk and Rook Irwin Sweeney. You can read our pre-action protocol letter here and the court bundle here.

"10% of the sums raised will go to the Good Law Project to help it develop and support further litigation in the public interest. It is our policy only to raise sums that we reasonably anticipate could be spent on this litigation. However, if there is a surplus it will go to support and enable other litigation we bring. Our founder, Jo Maugham QC, continues to work unpaid."

Doesn't sound to me that they're suing the government yet? ;-) ...........

A further reason why the claim should be withdrawn, or permission should be refused, is that it

will be moot by the time of any substantive hearing. As noted above, delivery of the supplies

purchased under the contract is expected to be completed by the middle of this month. Given that your clients are seeking relief in the form of an order setting aside the contract with

prospective effect only, it is apparent that the relief being sought would be of no practical utility.

***The PPE ordered under the contract will not only have already been delivered by our client,*** but

will largely have already been used by doctors and nurses in their lifesaving endeavours.

2.10 Further, even if your clients were to succeed in establishing any unlawfulness on the part of

DHSC, and even if the contract had not already run its course, the remedies being sought by

your clients would be inappropriate. Our client has acted in good faith in assisting DHSC in

securing supplies of PPE for the NHS. In these circumstances, it would be grossly unfair to our

client – as well as impracticable – for the contract to be set aside. Given that remedies in judicial

review are discretionary, it seems very unlikely that the Court would think it right to grant any

remedies, especially as neither of your client is an economic operator that has been seeking to

supply PPE to DHSC.

3. Next steps

3.1 We invite your clients to withdraw their claim. Should our client be required to acknowledge

service of and respond to the claim, it will seek to recover from your clients all costs incurred in

doing so and reserves the right to apply for security for those costs.

It appears your Loser Legal beagel clients are like you........Full of Bullsh*t >:-) .........

Now......come on Mr Motormouth, put your money where your gob always is and hand your property deeds over to that shell company. You've got absolutely nothing to lose.......it's only a house after all, but think of it as a small gesture to your Dear Leader who needs more money for his wealthy donor chums to siphon off.

They haven't got enough mugs yet have they Dumb Dumb? ;-) ........

Best get yer purse out Loser :D ........

Your claim has been skewered and proved totally incorrect....apology accepted. I also note you're running scared of the challenge i put to you. Don't fancy losing your house to dodgy companies your Dear Leader has thrown £108 million at eh?

Doesn't sound to me that they're suing the government yet? ;-) ...........

Because you've just looked at a crowdfunding site instead of READING the link i posted which DETAILS their proceedings. Dated 14th June when they issued a judicial review for proceedings in the High Court. FGS give your head a wobble to see if the lightbulb will come on as your stupidity is embarrassing now. :-|

Which says ;-) ........

"It is our policy only to raise sums that we reasonably anticipate could be spent on this litigation."

So all they've done so far is sent a threatening letter via the courts :D .........

Once again you are STILL not READING the Good Law Project link i posted. Why is it you have to be guided like a little five year old all the time and have everything placed in front of you? *-)

I was going to quote it but sod it.....it's about time you grew up and started to learn for yourself. READ that link FGS......ALL of it.

Followed from your link ;-) .........

https://goodlawproject.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/PestfixGLD5.pdf

We invite your clients to withdraw their claim......

Of course they want it withdrawn when a multi million pound contract was awarded to ONE 'company' without question! There are nine questions on the link i posted which warrant answering. Read through ALL of them. Also the other embedded links within the same link.

https://goodlawproject.org/news/over-100-contracts/

The only reason you don't care is you aren't paying tax and you're defensive of Johnsons government spaffing taxpayers money on dubious 'companies'.

Two cases are already subject of a court case and typically your flippant remark shows you don't understand the seriousness of this matter at all. Put your money where your motormouth always is and hand your property deeds over to Ms Brost, then we will see whose laughing.

Your assertion that the government "is" being sued is just more Bulletsh*t *-) ........

Why would anyone place an order, for any amount of money, with such a company?

(I wouldn't hire a brickie who had no record of ever having laid any bricks, and who didn't own a trowel! )

At this rate they'll be throwing money at the likes of shipping companies that don't have any ships.....

Oh!...hang on a minute?....... *-)

Even if that deal/company is all above board, as it's down as just a management consultancy, the chances are they could just end up buying the PPE from the same overseas suppliers (China etc) are we do now..

(and didn't one lot came from Myanmar(Burma), via Turkey? *-) )

We ordered/bought ours online from a UK stock/supplier (delivered in a couple of days) but they had been manufatcured in China.....so? The same probably goes for a hefty percentage of items in people's homes nowadays.

Strange that really, as we were always being told by Brexiteers that the EU was stopping us from trading with the rest of the world?

(so is China in the EU now then...?)

but either way, I'm not the clown shouting "Commie Chums" at every turn *-)

The "LOSER" would be you had you the guts to do what i suggested but you ran scared the minute i suggested it. Come on Motormouth, hand your property over to the Crisp "company" or Ms Brost and show your support for The Cause.

Exactly......it's another Seabourne debacle which stinks to the core and i put it to Pelmet, if so confident, then hand over his property deeds to the Crisp "company" or Ms Brost but as usual all Mr Motormouth can come up with is the usual wails of "losers" and "haters". *-)

Come off it Dave, they're just £13,000 short of the £70,000 they need. Since you're such an ardent guardian of public money, I'm surprised you haven't chipped in. A government order for over £100 million of specialist equipment to a company with £19,000 declared assets which doesn't manufacture, and has no track record in supplying, such equipment - and you're happy? You don't even detect a sniff of corruption? I'm disappointed. Talk about one law for the few, and different laws for the rest. I'd have thought you, of all people, would be incandescent at such profligate incompetence.
