jonimac
Hello folks. Believe it or not, I'm reasonably computer literate but have been having problems uploading a picture onto my messages to you good people. Will someone give me a step by step idiot's guide as to how it works. Will you leave it in a brown windowless envelope under the clock at Waterloo Station please. I'm open to ridicule, please feel free to give me some stick. John
Guest JudgeMental
mail the picture to yourself, this gives you the opportunity to change size of file choose smallest.(big picture files dont load) save piccy to your desktop click "new thread" OR "post reply" when box appears add text and click bottom box"attach file after posting" then click "browse" select desktop, and select your picture, then back on page press "upload" you will get a message "uploaded successfully" all done....... twooks
after you've typed your post tick the box 'Attach a file after posting' it's just to the left of the [submit] box. then just follow the instructions if you're quick you may be able to edit your initial post and try that ok?? B-) it's not particularly obvious - well - I didn't think so the first time anyway you get about half an hour to edit your posts once made - after which time you've got to make a fresh post see :D
BGD
One other thing about uploading piccies that I tripped over several times, is that there's a rather small upload size limit (I think the limit is 100kb). If you try to upload a piccy bigger than that file size, the server rejects it.
Mel B
Jonimac Open one of your picture image programmes (I'm sure you'll have more than one!), then open the picture you're trying to upload, then resize it so it's less than 100k, then save it, then try uploading it and you should find it works. jonimac
Grateful for the help and advice. Also slightly relieved in that it's not as straightforward as thought. Once again, thanks. John
