You will note, if you read what you quote above, that Macron blamed the "British variant", not Britain. What he said is correct, and is obvious. VOC 202012/01 is more infective than other variants in circulation in Europe, so it spreads faster, and infects more people, more quickly. That is the "pandemic inside a pandemic" to which he referred. Are you trying to argue the opposite? Since it bothers you so much, why don't you ask yourself how/why the UK/Kent/British variant arose. Why don't you ask why the UK, a collection of islands surrounded by sea, did not keep the virus at bay? It can't swim. It came with people who were allowed into the UK basically unchecked. How could that have happened? Because no-one thought to keep them out. Once in, it spread unchecked. How could that have happened? Because no-one thought to look across the sea to where it was raging outside the UK, to see how other countries were checking its spread. They just ignored what was visible elsewhere until it became blindingly obvious here. Then, when the stable doors were swinging in the breeze, and the virus horses ware rampaging across the UK, they solemnly announced that it was "out of control". Out of control! It was out of control simply because it had not been controlled! So, whose job was it to control the virus, and why didn't they do that? Had the UK controlled the virus as others did, immediately and rapidly, we should not have suffered the numbers of dead and infected that we did, we should not have come within a gnat's whisker of collapsing the NHS, and in all probability, that Kent variant would not have had the space within which to mutate. So, whose fault is/was all of that? Who was asleep at the wheel when the crash happened? And you want to blame the French, the Italians (both of whom God knows have problems enough of their own) or anyone else other than those actually responsible in the UK. There was no EU influence (or any other) over they way in which the UK government performed. They did it all by themselves, didn't they? That is what your cognitive dissonance denies, and you must be just about the only man alive who doesn't recognise that simple truth. The UK government "took back control" and then found wielding control too difficult for them. It is no more complicated than that. You voted for it - own it. Yep the government I own is managing the Pandemic much better than the EU you LOSERS worship >:-) ............ Time for you LOSERS to admit it (lol) (lol) (lol) .............. If I went out for a Sunday morning drive for an hour and in the first 50 minutes of that drive I mowed down a few hundred pedestrians but in the last ten minutes I managed to drive back into my village without killing anyone would you consider me a good driver?
