Thanks When you get to Dieppe the signs will take you on the bypass straight out. But then you don't see the town, which is a worthwhile destination in itself. Brian Kirby
Note that the boarding times are lengthy, you have to arrive and check in well in advance of boarding. The ferries are quite good - though one recently had an argument with the harbour wall, so it may be wise to check that the published timetables remain current, as I think some repairs are probably needed. The crossing can be "interesting" if rough, as the line of the crossing is about 45 degrees to the waves, so the ships "corkscrew" their way across. This is limited by stabilisers, but some still find the motion, ahem, unsettling! :-) Due to normally prevailing winds, the roughest water is on the UK side, so it smooths out as Dieppe is approached. About 4 hours 15 minutes each way. As John says, exit from/access to the port is quick and easy. Approach Newhaven via A26. As John also says, Dieppe is a pleasant little town, and is well worth a visit. If you're catching the 10:30 ferry from Newhaven there is a good campsite at Neufchatel-en-Bray, about 45 mins south of Dieppe - Camping Ste-Claire: GPS N49.73781 E1.42820. You should arrive about 16:30! :-)
