jumpstart Posted June 16, 2020 Share Posted June 16, 2020 I was at school with Tom Aguiyi Ironsi who was General Ironsi son the leader of Nigeria in 1966. The General wanted to stamp out corruption in Nigeria but was assassinated in July 1966. His son escaped to uk and arrived at our school which was a Christian school in Sept 1966. I had enormous respect as a 13 year old for the way he behaved after only two months after his father was murdered. He went on to become Foreign secretary and then the UN.
