Close, but not close enough! :-D https://tinyurl.com/yc9c6n9p As reported on the BBC news this morning. Always risky to take the Mail at face value - it still has an anti-EU agenda - and you're both still buying it! :-D

It's called back peddling Brian ;-) .........

They stabbed their envoy in the back 8-) .......

The DM became a Remoaner rag when Geordie Grieg took over ;-) .........

"Greig supported the UK remaining in the EU in the June 2016 referendum as editor of The Mail on Sunday.[8] He then shifted his stance to supporting Theresa May's withdrawal agreement. Greig was considered to have steered the Daily Mail in a pro-Remain direction, "

Which is why his hired hack Morgan is doing his Boris bashing for him *-) ........

Do try and keep up Dumb Dumbs >:-) .........

pelmetman - 2020-05-09 3:38 PM.....................…

They stabbed their envoy in the back 8-) ......…………...

Hardly, he was publicly rebuked for making unauthorised alterations to a text that had been agreed with the Chinese ambassadors of the 27 member states. Stabbed maybe, but in terms of a diplomat's career, that stabbing was full frontal, and probably terminal.

But the point, which you have conveniently (from the point of view of your bias) "missed" is that the EU did not agree with or sanction the omission of the line about the pandemic having originated in China.

Though, having said that, Gawd knows where else in the world the Chinese think it did originate!

They were the first to identify it, and declare it (on 31 December 2019), in Wuhan, Hubei province, which is about 700km from the nearest coast, and twice that from the closest external land border - with Mongolia! The first case of Covid in Mongolia was diagnosed in Ulaanbaatar on 7 March: a French male aged 57, who arrived from a flight via Moscow. Those dates seem to present a slight difficulty for the Chinese "not invented here protest", don't you think? :-D

Seeing as he's keeping his job ;-) ........

It doesn't sound very terminal :-| .........

Sounds more like he's agreed to be the EU's fall guy to stop the doo doo landing on the Brussels Dodo's :D ........
