Does anyone now if Wyverne Accessories are still in bussiness? I ordered a seat of him well before xmas & rang him again beginning of Jan he told me that the upholster had gone bump & will ring me on Mon 22 Jan, I'm still waiting! Has any one got his email ad?

The seats costing me about £400 so I think he would keep in contact.

I did a websearch and phoned them. I got a recorded message to say that they've moved to new premises (still in Shepton Mallet).

Their new number is 01749 881122.

Sorry if you've got this far yourself.

Wyvern are alive and well as we are currently having some work done. They are a small team and are very much overworked at present. Our slot has gone back a week and I expect it to take two weeks rather than the one week originally estimated.

Tony Sugg is the MD and is usualy most helpful, if there is a probem with the upholsterer then I imagine he is out solving it rather than telling everyone about the problem. Give him a call and check on the progress.

We had some work done by Regal Furnishings at Ilkeston a few years back and they were very good, helpful, cheerful and inexpensive.

They used to make furnishings for Auto Sleepers but I don't know if they still do but they do appear at most shows.

I'm back to square one with the seat! the back where it's been welded has snapped (poor welding job) & cannot be re-welded, so no seat. have to hire/beg/borrow acar when i need one. What peed me off is why didn't they let me know as its been on order for about 3 months & the cost around £400. The money's not the problem keeping me informed was. So my friends it's back to you, can you help me to find a seat 2nd hand or new?. Once again the info on the van  1989 (f) reg,  petrol, 1971cc, hi-top. I will need the complete seat which is also a fold down as part of the bed.

Thanks chopper ( a k, the mad axe man )  he he

Are you saying you have paid out the £400, but don't have the seat?

If so, unless you actually paid the money directly to the bankrupt upholsterer, the loss is Wyvern's and not yours.  Assuming you paid Wyvern, they owe you your money back, or must supply an equivalent (to your satisfaction) to the seat you ordered.

Sorry about the misunderstanding Brian, no I havn't paid for it but they said they could do me one it justs wants foam putting on the seat, they said they couldn't find anyone to do it!. When they finaly got back to me Sat they passed on a No for me & said they have one it's a firm in Bolton near me. What anoyes me is the time it took for me to find out, no calls or e-mail after the calls i made. poor buisness practice.

ForesterYou got me intrigued. Was the seat weld broken when you took it to Wyverne ? If not, was broken it during the course of time it's been with them ?If it was broken when it was taken to them, why so long to let you know it can't be re-welded.Are they using the non-availability of the foam as a way to get out of the work they "Quoted" to do.I would guess that Wyverne Assessories, are not a company that would undertake weld repairs themselves ?Do you have any small specialist Engineering companies, nearby who could have a look at the broken weld. They may not be able to repair at the break, and it may entail inserting a new section of metal tube to bridge the original break. (not forgetting the safety aspects.) A company specialising in Rally/Race Car preparation might be a likely source. Alternatively some of your contacts ref. building Chopper bikes, may be able to help.I suspect you may have difficulty finding a replacement, as it does not appear to be a standard base vehicle manufacturer's seat if it folds flat to form part of the bed.Flicka

I ordered a new one (which they said they had to make) which wasn't a problem the problem is the company they use to put the foam on the seat (so they said) The piece that coudn't be welded was at the end where you turn it up/down to make the bed, What i find hard to understand is surley there are more than one company who make the foam padding for the seats. Are they useing it as a get out! only they can answer that But in fairness to them they did pass on a No of a company who can do it. Welding firms, My brother is a boss at a large Company who do welding and he is going to give it a go himself ( if he cannot do it no-body can ) Re chopper bikes it's only a picture I havent any contacts in that field Flikca, They said the cost incl del would be around the £400 mark. Hope I have made it a little bit clearer for you, and thank-you for the advice/interest shown.

Still looking for advice or if you know of a company who can help! Up to press you have all been very supportive of my problems so thank-you to one & all.

Chopper.

Took the van to N C Interiors of Bolton yesterday for them to have a look at the seat!. The verdict was yes he can help me, he hasn't got a seat in to fit mine but he can & will alter one so that it will fit. Just need to drill holes in a diffrent place etc. What a very helpfull person he was, he's only a 2 man firm & by the look of his workshop very busy so to spend a hour of his time with the van sorting all the probs of the seat out trying to get it down in price for us was great. Nigel was telling us he worked for Richard Holsworh for over 20 years, so I parked the van up last nigh & got the seat out to take this morning to him, It will take 1/2 weeks to do as he's very busy. At last i have got somwere (?) And BTW we are having all the seats recovered.I will let you know when it's finnished what It's like?????

A very happy Chopper as Maggie would say. he he.
