Hospital appointment

I have got a hospital appointment on thursday morning for the results of my latest blood test, just curious to see what they say?

Wonder why they can't send the results by letter or give you a ring? its a right pain in the butt to have to traipse all the way down to the hospital just to hear the specialist fella say how are you? how's your waterworks? everything ok? see you in 3 months and keep taking the tablets.

5 weeks ago I phoned for Ambulance as I was in herrendous pain, I suspected Kidney Stone (had them before so was good educated guess rather than any medical knowledge (lol) ). Was taken to A&E and they did all the tests, x-rays etc then sent me home with painkillers without confirming anything (?) 2 weeks later I received an outpatients appointment to Urology and the Consultant informed me that I was carrying two of the blighters, one in Kidney and one further down which appeared reluctant to drop in to bladder. Made me another apointment for a scan (waited 2 weeks for this) then after 2 more weeks back to Consultant. Got to hospital for appointment but they were running 30 mins behind schedule, once I got in the consultant confirmed that the not so little blighters had not moved and said that I would need to be admitted urgently (not that urgently have to wait until next week).

Point being, they knew 5 weeks ago that I had 2 kidney stones and yet it has taken all this time (and in lots of pain) to decide to take me in to remove them (probably get them blasted like last time).

I stopped smoking last week, now Day 5 smoke free, nothing to do with the kidney stones though :-(

Big Momma

in similar boat went to A&E with severe pain told it may be stones given painkillers and anti inflamation pills and told to see gp to arrange scan.

now on waiting list for a scan classed as urgent by gp, been waiting nearly two weeks now, chased up hospital and told urgent ones take about 3 weeks.

Got phone call on Friday morning asking if I was available for visit to hospital on Tuesday for Pre-adminssion checks, one step closer I suppose :'( Having bad evening, lots of ache in lower right nether regions, taken painkillers and muscle relaxants but didn't catch it early enough so more discomfort than actual pain but not nice.

This is Day 9 of stop smoking and so far so good, well no not good but have not succumbed yet !

Also changed Internet Provider last weekend, Virgin media from BT Broadband. Got full package (Phone, TV and Broadband) but have been off line last 2-3 days as Broadband stopped working. Was on Phone to Virgin Technicians last night for 2 Hours - In India !!! They called me back so no cost and fortunately they resolved problems. However, have missed a lot of chatter on the forums and now caching up.
