That Matt Hancock will go far. :D

After watching the Media journalists and the Facebook Mafia I can say that I still love my country even though it is inhabited mainly by gobs**tes and idiots (a few of whom are members of this forum).

I would agree that Robert Peston is pretty useless, and too far up himself - but when I recall Hancocks' re-assurances

about the " protective ring " he put around care homes - the further HE goes , the better.

One of the weaknesses and vulnerabilities of democracy is that 50% of the electorate are not as clever as the others - and even some of the cleverer ones are blinkered fools.

To be fair, Hancock changed the subject before Peston could reply with the obvious fact that childcare is available in London.

... or the 60 mile drive to 'test his eyesight', coincidentally to a local beauty spot on his wife's birthday *-)

.... and the rush back to London, possibly whilst still infectious, for 'urgent work' - the first of which was to edit his previous years blog post to give a prediction of Coronovirus *-)

Can we assume that the " blinkered fools " are the people who don't agree with you Stuart ?

My reply to you is a quote made in 1910 by Theodore Roosevelt that I agree with 100%.

I don't recognise Matt Hancock in the man that Roosevelt is describing - Hancock hasn't been in his post long enough yet to be judged on his achievements, or otherwise.

( … and maybe Roosevelt wasn't too happy about free speech anyway, I doubt if many politicians are ).

All will become clarified about Hancocks, good or bad, contribution after the inevitable inquiry.

What we need is a proper inquiry into how the Government use their so-called inquiries to kick the can down the road until they are upstaged by a bigger scandal, and the guilty parties retired on gold plated pensions.
