Violet1956
I expect lots of you folk on here will have great regard for John Haynes who died on 8 February 2019. Read his obit in The Times today, it is an excellent piece. What a great bloke and a bit of a looker in his RAF days. The OH has fond memories of the jalopies he owned in his youth and the Haynes Manuals that helped him keep them on the road.
Tracker
I too have many memories - some fond, some not so fond, of wrestling with many old and obstructive cars and parts witht the aid of many a 'Haynes' manual over the impecunious times of yesteryear. Thanks John, great books, much appreciated, RIP.
Bulletguy
I've lost count of the number of Haynes manuals i bought over the years and still have a few around the house. They were excellent books though by the 90's the quality declined imo with poor photographs and somewhat vague description. Sad loss but he had a very good life and brought pleasure and enlightenment to many! Thanks Mr Haynes!! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-47214103
Tracker
I too amassed a big collection of Haynes manuals over the years and I donated all of them to the Pembrokeshire Motor Museum near Haverfordwest who were delighted to get them!
