Homeless, filthy, skint, public toilets closed or cost money to get in. What else can they do? And No, London doesn't need more signs. When I drive in London I see so many signs its impossible to take them all in at normal driving speed - and dangerous to try. In fact a psychologist got off a traffic offence by proving there were so many signs it created information overload. They need free public toilets - and homes so people don't try to sleep in them. "We looked at a few different options to combat the fouling. We considered a belt and braces approach and discussed the possibility of installing CCTV as well the signs to really nip it in the bud. "But we agreed at our annual general meeting last year that we would try the signs first as this would be the most sensible option."
