Maggie would have eaten anyone who threatened her Single market which she pretty much created and beaten anyone who attempted to take us out to within an inch of their lives. You could say that she would have made sure we got what we wanted within the EU but the truth is we HAVE! We have a better deal than any other country within the EU. The rest of the world look on her with admiration but here in the UK we like much of our other history have many that seem ashamed of her and that history . colin Posted May 1, 2019 Share Posted May 1, 2019 Maggie, the biggest con artist of the 20thC, as Barry says she was very much in favour of EU whilst conning the plebs that she was standing up to 'them'. Same with MP's salaries con the public that MP's where under a tight rein but open the flood gates on expenses. As for taxes, cut income tax then nearly double VAT, I believe that during my lifetime the highest tax as percentage of GDP was during her period as PM.
