Well a fair few mail readers have exploded for sure this morning if you look at their comments. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6544145/Remainer-Sadiq-Khan-slammed-politicising-Londons-New-Years-Eve-fireworks.html Thats a few less left for the second ref. (lol)

So if do manage to get a "Remoaner Vote" ;-) ..........

How are you going to get the 52% you have annoyed for two years to change their minds? >:-) ...........

Just askin :D .........

If 7 million people live in the London area, at 1p each and a total cost of £70,000 the firework display, well choreographed and presented as ever, was a good advert for London and the UK and represents very good vfm.

There will always be those who whinge and moan but why would the vast majority of people want to listen to those usual killjoy suspects who will find fault with just about everything?

Get a life.

Happy new Brexitmas to one and all!

70k Rich? :-S ..........

"According to the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan’s website, a total Greater London Authority (GLA) net expenditure of £2.3m was approved for the 2018 New Year's Eve fireworks."

So that's another 2.3 million spent on Remoaner Propaganda *-) ............

Sorry Dave, I heard it on the BBC News that the fireworks were £70k and knowing how factual and reliable the BBC news is, and not really giving a toss anyway, I didn't bother to research it!

£2,300,000 eh? Mere peanuts to a man like Sadiq - perhaps a real socialist would have cut corners but fortunately Saqiq isn't a real socialist!!

And at just over 3p each it's still a bargain, but I didn't check the population of London either, maybe it's more than 7 million!!

Well we watched Madness rather than Jools; and the fireworks were very impressive.

I didn’t notice the EU “propaganda” but did think it was impressive.

But then I’m is Remainer, not a remoaner.

Day 1, nice day, so far so good, no Brexit coverage on news for a while, I suppose we’ll be back to normal pretty soon,

Snowie

We dont need you to change your minds (although its clear a fair few have) because as of January (Which is today) if not one person has changed their minds there will no longer be a majority in favour of leaving the EU simply down to the demographic of two million young people becoming eligible to vote and a similar amount of older voters going off to play with their Unicorns in the sky. The longer it drags on the wider that gap will get. This assumes a similar turn out and percentage of age group votes as last time so its quite generous as I Reckon the young people will turn out in higher numbers this time.

As for the Firework costs, they make more money by miles than they cost every year.

Not more fake news Barry *-) .........

How much do the fireworks cost?

According to the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan’s website, a total Greater London Authority (GLA) net expenditure of £2.3m was approved for the 2018 New Year's Eve fireworks.

The statement adds that the figure is based on forecast ticket sales and concession income of £950,000.

So the 2.3 cost is based on them receiving 950k in ticket sales and concession >:-) ..........

That peanut money generated £950k in ticket sales and an estimated £6.5 million boost to London's economy.

I can't understand why so many of the WINNERS of the EU referendum are so miserable.

;-)

Probably because they know deep down they have been sold a pup and it was a terrible decision to leave the EU but are too proud and despise the remainers to much to admit it. The fact that they constantly refer to "winning" something shows it all really. Nobody can take that away from them despite how terrible it looks with each passing week. The truth is though if we knew back then what we know now and we had a vote to leave the EU who the hell would tick the "leave" box? Not many I suspect. Its just got insane now. Insane that our government is still hell bent on proceeding with making us all poorer, probably breaking up the UK and sending us on a race to the bottom from which we will probably never recover.

I'm surprised that you see those of you who won the referendum as " whiners " - but I will accept your correction as I don't know any personally.
